Shawna & Jason came to us with an appreciation for great wedding photography and, like most couples, high hopes for beautiful Colorado weather on their wedding day. As much as we all hoped for that perfect sunset -- and as much as Josh and I hope that for all our weddings -- sometimes Mother Nature has other plans.
Shawna and Jason's ceremony was held at Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs. Though the forecast called for a major snowstorm early that evening, the couple's priorities were in all the right places. Low stress, all smiles, the children were entertained by the foosball table, and all was right with the world.
As the ceremony was ending, the snow began to fall outside. And it fell, and fell, and fell...
Determined for a handful of photos at their beautiful Black Forest reception location, out came our umbrellas and flashes (which were covered with plastic bags, of course). Through our little photoshoot, the snow gathered on the ground, muffling all sounds.
It was so peaceful and quiet in the forest, and perfect for these newlyweds to enjoy a tiny moment of peace in an otherwise hectic day.
A friend of Shawna & Jason's owns Oasis Brewery, a brewery out of Denver, Colorado. They came bearing their red amber ale, Snoasis, which was the most appropriate name for this wedding's drink of choice.
Congratulations, Shawna & Jason!
